Dr. Vida Meymand, a breast cancer survivor, is the founder of 2GreenApples. Vida's treatment and ultimate recovery from breast cancer was made even more challenging since she was without health insurance.

When she was diagnosed with breast cancer, she and her husband had just moved back to the states, and both were without jobs. Health insurance companies denied her coverage due to a pre-existing condition and lack of employment.

For the first time in her life, Vida had to face the bitter reality of how money plays a big role in people's lives.

She was ill, unemployed, and uninsured - not a good combination. Vida began writing about her experience as openly and candidly as she could. Her book, "Why Not Me?" is an inspiring story of courage and patience. Vida's labor of love is a life-changing experience for her readers. For the first time in my life, I was face-to-face with people suffering from cancer who were uninsured and underfinanced, Vida explains. I found a common ground with them - something I could never imagine in my wildest dreams.

This was a call for me to do something to stop this suffering. I could feel their physical and emotional pain. Thus began Vida's motivation to found 2GreenApples Breast Cancer Center. She has dedicated her life to making a difference. Dare to dream big is Vida's motto. Using positive mind distraction and drawing upon her connection with the universe, Vida directed her healing and recovery into the right path.

Today, Vida is sending out a valuable message. "Women around the world share a universal language that enables them to connect to each other. We can feel each other's joy and pain - something so unique and exclusive to a woman. With this diverse unity, we can link and form an unbreakable chain to have a voice and to reach out to women suffering from this mean disease without any form of assistance. The joy and satisfaction from giving love and hope is priceless."
